What We Believe

At Haven Church, we believe in the power of the Gospel to transform lives. We follow the New Testament plan of salvation and hold the Bible as the inspired Word of God, guiding our faith and actions. We believe in one eternal God, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

As the body of Christ on earth, the church offers hope and a place to grow, serve, and live out your faith. We also hold a deep conviction that Jesus will come again to establish His kingdom, and we prepare our hearts and lives for that day.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divine revelation from God to man. We accept the Scriptures as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

(II Timothy 3:16-17 & II Peter 1:19-21)

God

We believe in the one eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature, and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. This one true God has revealed Himself as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit in sanctification.

(Deuteronomy 6:4-5 & I Timothy 3:16)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin; that He lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for our sins, and bodily rose from the grave. We believe that through His death and life we have personal salvation and power for victorious living.

(Matthew 16:13-19 & I Timothy 2:5-6)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today and that the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues and His accompanying gifts, is the privilege of all New Testament believers.

(John 14:15-26 & Acts 2:1-21)

Salvation

We believe that all men have sinned and need redemption, which is obtained through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who repent of their sins, are baptized in Jesus’ name and receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost become children of God and heirs with Christ.

(Romans 3:19-25 & Acts 2:37-38)

The Church

We believe the church has been "called out" of the world to be a habitation of God through the Spirit. As the body of Christ on earth, the church offers hope to humanity. The church is one body of many members, diverse in their gifts and calling of the Holy Spirit.

(Acts 15:13-21 & I Corinthians 13:12-31)

The Second Coming

We believe Jesus Christ will come again to establish His kingdom on the earth. At His coming, we believe the dead in Christ will be resurrected from the grave to reign with Him for a thousand years.

(Matthew 24 & Revelation 20)
